A Date that I'll always Treasure

Many of us, whether men or women, treasure every second of our time with our love ones, whether family, relatives, friends or special someone. And this is one of my stories that God made me realize that I should always keep and share.

Couple of hours ago, I received a phone call from my Mom, asking me to go to SM North Edsa to accompany her to buy stuff and to look for shops that would repair her phone. Without hesitating well I respond, i quickly take a bath (by the way not to quick I did wash thoroughly), dress and arrange things she instructed me to bring, then set off to the mall. As I travel listening to my IPOD, a song of Casting Crowns caught my attention and the lyrics goes like this

"Love her like Jesus, carry her to Him, His yoke is easy, His burden is light, You don't need the answers to all of life's questions, just know that He loves her, just stay by her side, Love her like Jesus"

after few hours I didn't give it importance because well my mind is in focus of asking my mom to buy me something. But as few hours goes by the song played again, I was like "ok what does God is telling me?" then I remember the scriptures in proverbs

Proverbs 1:8
Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

Proverbs 23:22
Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.

honestly I just remember the high lighted part I can't remember where in proverbs but I'm pretty sure that time it was in proverbs, thanks to www.biblegateway.com

Anyway well God reminded me about these two scriptures that I always encounter every 1st day and 23rd day of the month, and this time it had a different impact on me. We usually go out with our mom in groups (meaning the whole family) or just me and her, but I never enjoyed and appreciate my time with her until now. God has many ways to tell us this and that and we must be sensitive in His will.

Tonight as I realize God's will to me towards my mom, appreciating the things she sacrifice for us, the unfailing love she shared to us, and the wisdom that she imparted differently toward us made me love her more than I loved her before. Now as the next couple of days, months or years to come, I will do my best to serve her and Honor her like what she did to us and to do the same for my mom's future daughter in law.

I want to date her more. ^_^

Ephesians 6:2
"Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise—
