I was like them before

Have you ever wonder what it would look like if you see yourself before when you were still a kid. What do you usually do or say that time? Looking back to your past kid life? ^__^ hmmm anyway I got a chance to recall my childhood life when a friend of mine invited me to help out with our kids church last Sunday and it was totally awesome and the story goes like this.

Last Sunday my friend Tey reminded me through her text “Kuya Mark, Kids tyo later ha… pwede daw Kuya Bryan later sa Big Church” so for me it was weepee it would be my first time to help out the tech team in kids church so why not come on lets do this. Getting excited I finished laundry in a breeze so I could go to GH as early as possible. Once I got there I saw Tey and start asking her what to do. Nervous and excited I want to do as much as I wanted but she already did most of it (Go Tey you’re the best) then came 3pm it was fun, Teachers Don and Candice and ate Pichie lead the P&W (Kuya Don and Candice has a good feet I must say) and for me I’m in at the back with Kuya Jun. the kids where so amazing, they are so jolly and so attentive singing and listening to the teachers. I remember Noah and the one who is beside him, they all so want to talk over the microphone every time Teacher Bing ask them questions for every answered question has KC bucks (it’s a price money for them to collect and redeem it every once in a month). Then came 5pm and it’s all the same. I also remember talking to Kayla and a young girl who helped me out at the tech booth (oh I forgot her name I remember her name started with M hehehe) anyway, we just had small conversation, Kayla eating her second lollipop by that time, talked about G-FORCE, THIS IS IT, MJ, whoa this guys are unstoppable grabe.

After the last service I just realized it was not long ago that I was like them. Running around the room, I think I was talkative that time as well ^__^, eager to answer the questions of the Teacher, having sweets or whatever food they give us (oh I miss my kid life hehehe) and it just hit me when I remember one line Jesus told His disciple about the children,

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." Mark 10:14-15

No wonder Paul told us in Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

For when a child was given a gift he doesn’t brag about it but share it. For when he is given something precious he keeps it like its will always be there forever. We ought to be child in receiving God’s perfect gift which is salvation. For like a child they don’t work to gain their parents favor for they are already favored by they mom and dad. And for us we don’t need to work our salvation, God already give it to us through His beloved Son Jesus, who already did the work for us to be saved by giving up His life for our sins. The only question remains is how will you accept it?

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10

Volunteer’s perception

Run, Jog or Walk… what is the difference? When you enjoy doing this with friends, colleagues or family surely it will be fun. And what we experienced last Saturday tells it more.

Last Saturday we had a chance to be part of a REAL LIFE changing event, The RACE FOR LIFE 09’ by REAL LIFE FOUNDATION, at Every Nation Fort Bonifacio. I was a volunteer for the event so being early is a must. Once we got at the event place we can’t help ourselves but to take some pictures, since it was like 3:30am why not we don’t have anything to do. But when people started to go in, some are getting ready, some just registered that day, we share the same thrill and excitement the runners also has. It was totally fun seeing friends enjoying the morning breeze, people walking around just enjoying the warmth embrace of the sun, seeing friends from Victory Greenhills running and enjoying our cheer ( yes guys we cheered for them not only our friend but everyone) and enjoying the company of new friends makes me want to join the next year run.

As Rica and Donita announce before the event ended that there would be another run next year called “Run for your LIFE” as the next event they would lose wild animals for us to run? I think their just kidding hahahaha, I would definitely joining the run next year. So as for me it’s a start of a new discipline and new training every Saturday and Sunday for the next few months. I encourage you guys to join us next year as we help people and enjoy the experience of running not only for our good health but for God’s people.

The Walk

Walk? Really what’s with walking? I’ve been doing this for a very long time, and I pretty sure you to have experienced this not unless you never walk and just run or swim practically your whole life? Hahaha anyway this story I’m about to share is a bit insight of what I discover from all my past experiences of walking.

Last tuesday we were at University of the Philippines, we just had this crazy idea of hanging out in the campus for some reason, actually its the kwek kwek, isaw and barbecue that were there, awesome (yes guys our real reason going there is the street food wahahahaha delicious) never the less we had fun. After we full our stomach with all this bunch of foods, by the way I didn’t eat isaw for I don’t like the taste at all, and met new friends in the process Riz and Jaimee (nice meeting you guys) we walk around the campus finding place to stay and have some good old bonding time. As we were walking around I can’t help but be amazed on how I truly love walking. Seeing people jog, some are walking as well, friends hanging out in a bench, vehicles running around back and fort, birds flying above us, wind blowing in our ears, tress dance as wind goes by, sky turning off like a light bulb with dimmer on it, its just simply amazing how can a simple walk gives you a different perspective of the world.

You see we hurry too much in our lives that we forgot how beautiful the journey is. Were to focus in front when we can learn with what is in the side road of our life. We want everything to be fast, we ought to stop in a while to reflect on things that life showed us. Like a friend of mine said to her blog once “reflect on what I’ve learned so far with my journey”. To see the picture in a more detailed way you should once in a while look at it in a different angle or take the ride in a different way, start walking with Him and you’ll understand what I’m saying. Things may be different but I tell you this it’s an adventure worth taking.

Why is morning important

good morning guys. first of want to great you good morning since I made this blog well morning ^_^. Now question why is morning important? I did ask my self why do I have to wake up early in the morning and do all the necessary things that I have to do when I can do it before or after lunch. Well here is my story about it.

Naturally I always stay up late woke up late, that was my routine especially when I was in college since my class start late afternoon. But this past few days I read a blog of a friend about being a morning person, she mentioned about coming to love being a morning person. After reading the entire blog God spoke to me, because before I had once prayed that He would change my body clock but it went back when I was in my season of exam. So this time it was totally different, for before for the sake to woke up because of work but this time He made it simply amazing why He wanted me to woke up early.

Early this morning around 6AM I think, I woke up with a joy in my heart, just cant figure it out but yes guys there is joy hehe. Before going down to start washing the dishes and cook food I started the day with a simple prayer (Remember my blog about Lesson from our encounter with Ondoy's wrath, look at lesson number 3 ^_^) then went down to do what is needed to do. My mom woke up because I made some little noise (she is so sensitive with noise, maybe that what I got from her anyway) and help me out with cooking. after few minutes she open our PC and I open youtube to play some P&W so we could here some music, its to quiet by the way we can only here the sounds of the birds outside, and continue with our work. After few moments, listening to New Life Worship - Here in Your presence. He reveal something in me. The day won't be complete without Me. He is right, He created heaven and earth, morning and night, Land and water, earth and sky this aren't complete when it lack one (read Genesis 1).
Its just amazing how He reveal simple things to us which we regret seeing for were to busy with life's endeavor. Now I somehow understand why He wants me up early morning. Its totally different when you enjoy the creation of our Lord in the morning for He shows us how magnificent He is by the rise of the sun to the hymn of the birds and the sounds of the wind. As I continue my walk and my understanding of my faith, I would treasure all lessons He has taught me and will share this to everyone possible. As the song goes, Here in Your presence I am undone, I'll be always undone for no one can make me complete but Christ alone.

have a blessed day ahead friend, my food I'm cooking for my dog is almost done (this is surely done) I have to go down stairs. bye ^__^

For ALL Filipino People

I just notice for the past few days after the onslaught of Ondoy to our country (Especially to the most affected part of luzon, and the threat of the incoming typhoon Pepeng) people have been praying and devoted them selves for the protection of their lives and the life of their love ones.

last Sunday Sept. 27, 09 up to the next Sunday Oct. 4, 09 people have been texting, facebooking (if there such term), and telling each other pray for the whole Philippine for an incoming super typhoon is once again going to slaughter our nation. Its great we were united in times of disaster but do we really need to be in danger before asking God's comfort?

David said in Psalm 34:1-2

I will extol the LORD at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.

My soul will boast in the LORD;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

He said at all times, meaning in disaster or joy we should give praise and pray to our God. NOT only in times of trouble.

We Filipino haven't learned our lessons. We need disaster first before we take precautionary actions or ask His grace to be with us.

watching the news earlier, people from our government pointing fingers on who to blame about the flood. Whose fault is it why people were not informed earlier or properly? people were asking why there is so many wastes in our lakes, creeks and streams? Why did the local government didn't implement this and that? what the...have we tried asking ourselves, what did I do to help clean the community? Did I do something to keep God's creation beautiful?

God give us responsibility for His creation (Genesis 2:15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.) but have we really take good care of His garden?

this goes for everyone, ask yourselves. Do i really need God's wrath before I take my responsibility more seriously? Do I seek Him in times of disaster only or in every blessing only or in both?

A Date that I'll always Treasure

Many of us, whether men or women, treasure every second of our time with our love ones, whether family, relatives, friends or special someone. And this is one of my stories that God made me realize that I should always keep and share.

Couple of hours ago, I received a phone call from my Mom, asking me to go to SM North Edsa to accompany her to buy stuff and to look for shops that would repair her phone. Without hesitating well I respond, i quickly take a bath (by the way not to quick I did wash thoroughly), dress and arrange things she instructed me to bring, then set off to the mall. As I travel listening to my IPOD, a song of Casting Crowns caught my attention and the lyrics goes like this

"Love her like Jesus, carry her to Him, His yoke is easy, His burden is light, You don't need the answers to all of life's questions, just know that He loves her, just stay by her side, Love her like Jesus"

after few hours I didn't give it importance because well my mind is in focus of asking my mom to buy me something. But as few hours goes by the song played again, I was like "ok what does God is telling me?" then I remember the scriptures in proverbs

Proverbs 1:8
Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

Proverbs 23:22
Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.

honestly I just remember the high lighted part I can't remember where in proverbs but I'm pretty sure that time it was in proverbs, thanks to www.biblegateway.com

Anyway well God reminded me about these two scriptures that I always encounter every 1st day and 23rd day of the month, and this time it had a different impact on me. We usually go out with our mom in groups (meaning the whole family) or just me and her, but I never enjoyed and appreciate my time with her until now. God has many ways to tell us this and that and we must be sensitive in His will.

Tonight as I realize God's will to me towards my mom, appreciating the things she sacrifice for us, the unfailing love she shared to us, and the wisdom that she imparted differently toward us made me love her more than I loved her before. Now as the next couple of days, months or years to come, I will do my best to serve her and Honor her like what she did to us and to do the same for my mom's future daughter in law.

I want to date her more. ^_^

Ephesians 6:2
"Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise—

Lesson from our encounter with Ondoy's wrath

probably you would say this is another yet story told by someone who just experienced Ondoy's wrath to our country, but don't worry I'll just share few things I learned from that nightmare...

1. when flood enter even a little part of your property be alert and try to take some precautionary actions.
- meaning don't just stand MOVE.

2. when flood is inevitable, learn to sing and have a peaceful mind.
- I know this sound impossible but it is possible, before you sing and have peaceful mind a prayer would be great start. few moments past and flood came in our house but I manage to give praise and started to sing then thought of things to save in our house.

3. lets get back to basic - PRAY.
- like I told you prayer would be a great start. whether your going to start the day or a work or a task, our best weapon against enemy's plan is our prayer. His protection and guidance will get us through the day.

4. have joy in your heart.
- sounds impossible again? uh-uh this is totally possible. like what Jesus said in Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." with man it would be impossible but when God intervene anything can be achieve.

5. lastly - look in the brighter side of things.
- once you have joy, peace of mind and God's unfailing love, its not hard to look at things in brighter side or as others say it "Positive thinking". for example the flood we had instead of thinking it that way I thought of "a pool party of the whole subdivision" people around help out, enemies helped out, people who seems snob each other is now having conversation. all things happen to us has a purpose. another is instead of trash think of it as "alright my house will be spacious, time for new furniture and things".

in times of trouble or disaster we tend to think there is no hope, we think negatively, we even sometimes blame others or worst God for what happen, but as my neighbor say it (which i just over heard ^_^) "ayan kze hindi na kayo nagsisimba". I think its time for us to change our ways and repent for the sins we had made before and start a new. like the bible said in 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! let us abandon our old ways and start a new one through Christ.
